No. We use your prototype as the starting point, not as the place we build. We export your app out of the builder and into a proper codebase, in a repository you own, where we can develop, test and deploy it properly. Your code is no longer tied to a builder's subscription or platform.

Yes, and it's one of the best things you can do for it. Base44 apps rely on Base44's own servers for their data, logins and automations, so your app only works while you're on their platform. We convert it into a proper codebase built on industry-standard frameworks such as Next.js for web and Expo for mobile, with your own database, logins and hosting in Australia. Your app stops depending on a builder's subscription, and any experienced developer can work on it. Existing users may need to reset their passwords during the move, and we'll plan that with you so it's smooth. Your review scopes exactly what's involved.

No. At minimum, it becomes the blueprint for the production version: your screens, features and logic. Often we can keep much of the app itself and fix what's risky.

Usually not, and that's deliberate. Once your app is in a proper codebase, editing it back in the builder would clash with the production work. You can ask us for changes anytime, and any experienced developer can pick it up.

Not at all. That's our job. We'll explain everything in plain English and tell you exactly what you're getting and why.

Hardening a solid prototype can take a few weeks. A rebuild usually takes longer. You'll get a timeline with your quote after the review.

Production work starts from $5k for a small hardening job. Most prototype-to-production builds cost between $15k and $25k, usually less than building from scratch, because your prototype has already done some of the work. Multi-tenant SaaS products start from $30k. Your review runs through our paid discovery and gives you a fixed quote before you commit.

That's not really what we do. Quick fixes on an app that isn't production-ready usually just move the problem somewhere else. Doing it properly means looking at the whole app, which is why our production work starts from $5k.

You do. Your code lives in a repository in your name, and at handover you get everything we've built and all our rights in it. Like most software, it may include open-source libraries that come with their own licences, and anything generated in your builder is covered by your agreement with that builder. We'll walk you through it in the review.
